Your Teachers

Abbi Hearne • Teaching September 23-27 (MOAB)

Hey fam! I’m Abbi. I am an adventurer first and photographer second, splitting life between a house in Moab (this is new! so exciting!) and our big gray monster truck that makes Yosemite, Alaska, and everywhere in between feel like home, too. I live and work with my incredible husband, Callen, and our sweet little mutt Charlie. With The Hearnes Adventure Photography, we travel between mountains and deserts and even on top of glaciers shooting elopements and intimate weddings in epic places.

We’ve created a personal brand that ripples far beyond our own reach and makes a difference in our couples lives and in the places we love so deeply. We are outdoor advocates and true adventurers who believe there is so much more to this job than insta-worthy photos. During my free time, you might find me rock climbing, solo skydiving, exploring random dirt roads in Utah, or trolling google maps for places I want to go next. I am so stoked to be teaching with these incredible buddies and can’t wait to give you real, tangible strategies that will grow your business beyond anything you could ever imagine!

India Earl • Teaching october 7-11 2018, march 11-14 2019 (Scotland), August 11-14, 2019 (iceland), September 23-27 (MOAB)

I’m a full time wedding photographer currently based out of a little town in the middle of the mountains of northern Utah. I love traveling, Thai food, dogs, and pretty much anything that takes me outside. I’m married to the weirdest and best person I’ve ever met. Together we climb, skydive (just got certified last year, whoo!), snowboard, hike, and eat tons of panda express and sushi. I’ve been a photographer for about 4 years now and I’ve explored quite a few different paths in photography, but I’ve found that what makes my heart beat hardest is photographing love. There’s not much more rewarding or humbling than having the opportunity of creating something with you and your person on your best day. I’m not about stiff awkward stagnant poses, because let's be real, those kinds of pictures suck to take. I’m about capturing the genuine, quirky, sarcastic, teasing, loving, soft, fun, and unique love that you have. All those factors together will show what your love is. I wanna capture that real love stuff for you. The stuff that gives you butterflies, the ways they hold you to make you feel safe, the way your person looks at you that makes you think “yeah, that's why I love them.” I wanna get the big moments, the loud ones and the quiet ones, the in-betweens, the ones you don’t think anyone else is watching. I don’t want to be a story-teller, I want to be a story listener. Tell me your story, and let's create something beautiful together.

Anni Graham • teaching August 11-14 2019 (Iceland) and dates TBD 2019-2020

Hey everyone, I’m Anni and I’m so excited for this workshop! I’m a full time wedding photographer from Northern California.  If I’m not shooting or editing, I’m probably hiking or backpacking with my husband.  I grew up in the Himalayas in India, which was obviously incredible, but I’m not up to date with everything pop culture or history related so please forgive me.  Other than wedding photography, I am in love with outdoor adventure photography and going on assignment with Nat Geo is probably my biggest dream. I’ve been a photographer for about 6 years now and have grown so much over the years.  I love getting to know my couples on a personal level and infusing their unique story into my images.  I love the thrill of shooting in all elements, soaked at a waterfall, falling in the mud, hardly able to stand up in the wind, or hiking up to a peak at sunrise.  I value the experience photography can create, and the emotion it can hold. I’m thrilled to be a part of this group of incredible women, to encourage and support you and tell you how awesome you already are!

Jordan Voth • Teaching october 7-11, 2018 and August 11-14, 2019 (iceland)

Hey everybody! I'm Jordan Voth, a Seattle-based portrait & wedding photographer. I'm a huge fan of traveling and see all that the world has to offer. Other than obviously taking a lot of photos, I co-own a lifestyle shop in Ballard with my girlfriend, Gillian, called Tides & Pines. Our dog, Tucker, is the store mascot/shop dog/leader of the welcoming committee.

We work a lot but spend our downtime hiking, eating all the food in Seattle, taking Tucker to the park and binge watching Netflix & Hulu. I'm super stoked to have a chance to chat with you all at Alpine NW. I'm all about sharing knowledge so come find me at anytime and ask me anything that comes to mind. It's going to be a great time.

Wyn Wiley • Teaching march 11-14 2019(Scotland)

Hello everyone! i'm wyn! i'm 24 years old and call Nebraska, the smack dab in the middle of the U.S.A., home. i get to travel the world making photos for people and brands i love and it's pretty damn fantastic time. the clients i work with make my life full & some people i've taken photos for include Martha Stewart magazine, adidas, red bull, and Pepsi along with hundreds of high school seniors, couples, families and friends. i'm known for my hug-you-in-the-first-three-seconds-of-knowing-you way i live my life and i love a good karaoke session.

lately, my focus has been directed at co-founding a non-profit called c'mon team! c'mon team! organizes trips to cities across the united states where groups of 20-30 creatives volunteer their time and talent to create new photos, videos and websites for other non-profits. it's been an incredible movement of using our talents to give back, impact cities and non-profits and be such a channel of positivity in the lives of those involved.

the final cog in the machine of what i do is speaking! and actually, i almost love speaking about photos more than taking them. over the past few years i've gotten to speak in Canada, all around the U.S. and most special to me, i've gotten to speak to many high schools and middle schools. i've also gotten to give a TED talk when i was 18 and it was a really incredible experience. well that's me! i cannot wait to meet each and every one of you!

Carina Skrobecki •  dates tbd 2019-2020

Hi friends, I'm Carina — I'm excited to meet all of you in person! I’m formally trained in graphic design, and it's what I did full time for ~5 years before picking up a camera. I love working alongside entrepreneurs (especially photographers) to help them create memorable, sustainable, and consistent brands. On the photography side, I shoot weddings & engagements and a fair amount of commercial work for large companies like REI, or small businesses like Simply Real Health.

On a personal level, I married the love of my life in September 2015 and we reside in West Seattle with our fur-child, Rosco. If I'm not shooing or designing, you can find us hiking, camping, fishing or just enjoying time outdoors. I would describe myself as an outgoing introvert. I love people, I crave relationship & collaboration, but I also deeply cherish the quieter days where I can recharge. I’m not quick to judge and feel I have an innate ability to read people. I truly enjoy interacting with different personalities and find that photography has been a vehicle in letting me get unique peek into a multitude of lives, minds, & relationships.

Catherine Coons •  dates tbd 2019-2020

Hi pals! I’m Catherine Coons, a traveling wedding photographer splitting my time between Florida, NY, and SoCal. I get to travel all over the country and photograph some of the most amazing people. SOMEONE PINCH ME. I often can’t believe I really get to do this as my job.

When I am not editing or taking photos, I am most likely enjoying the outdoors, watching a movie, playing music, or spending time with friends & family.

My love for photography started 6 years ago and stems from my love for people - making people laugh, letting people feel comfortable with me, making them feel at home. Even if that means making corny jokes and being real goofy. That’s why I am so insanely excited about this workshop - it’s all about feeling at home within this photography community that can so often feel overwhelming. I am so excited to be friends with all of you!
