ALPINE ELITE: JANUARY 8-12, 2018 - TALL TIMBER RANCH, WASHINGTON

January 8-12, 2018

I’m a full time wedding photographer currently based out of a little town in the middle of the mountains of northern Utah. I love traveling, thai food, dogs, and pretty much anything that takes me outside. I’m married to the weirdest and best person I’ve ever met. Together we climb, skydive (just got certified last year, whoo!), snowboard, hike, and eat tons of panda express and sushi. I’ve been a photographer for about 4 years now and I’ve explored quite a few different paths in photography, but I’ve found that what makes my heart beat hardest is photographing love. There’s not much more rewarding or humbling than having the opportunity of creating something with you and your person on your best day. I’m not about stiff awkward stagnant poses, because let's be real, those kinds of pictures suck to take. I’m about capturing the genuine, quirky, sarcastic, teasing, loving, soft, fun, and unique love that you have. All those factors together will show what your love is. I wanna capture that real love stuff for you. The stuff that gives you butterflies, the ways they hold you to make you feel safe, the way your person looks at you that makes you think “yeah, that's why I love them.” I wanna get the big moments, the loud ones and the quiet ones, the in-betweens, the ones you don’t think anyone else is watching. I don’t want to be a story-teller, I want to be a story listener. Tell me your story, and let's create something beautiful together.

Hey :)  My name is Noelle and this workshop was an idea I had sitting in a cabin high in the Alps in southern France.  I wanted to bring people together who loved to do what I love to do, and once Braden DEMANDED to co-create Alpine with me, I knew we had something awesome to share.  Let's get to the good stuff: I like food.  I like to sing.  I like picnics.  I like golden sunlight.  I like being barefoot.  I like wild flowers.  I like fruit, so so much fruit.  And I absolutely love photography.  With photography I get to be around people who are in love, who are starting a new life or celebrating an old one, people who are at their happiest, and I get to capture people in those times so that they can look back and recognize how sweet their time alive has been.  I adore where I'm from.  I love shooting in nature.  Nature is pure, and romantic, and endlessly inspiring.  I adore the evergreens, the mountains running all the way down to the sea, the endless and abounding nature.  It's these places that allow me to create portraits of people as their most authentic and free-spirited selves and it's in these places that I'm thrilled to meet you all and lead Alpine Northwest Workshop.  We're going to share an amazing experience and I'm honored to be a part of it. :)

January 8-12, 2018

Hey everybody! I'm Jordan Voth, a Seattle-based portrait & wedding photographer. I'm a huge fan of traveling and see all that the world has to offer. Other than obviously taking a lot of photos, I co-own a lifestyle shop in Ballard with my girlfriend, Gillian, called Tides & Pines. Our dog, Tucker, is the store mascot/shop dog/leader of the welcoming committee. We work a lot but spend our downtime hiking, eating all the food in Seattle, taking Tucker to the park and binge watching Netflix & Hulu. I'm super stoked to have a chance to chat with you all at Alpine NW. I'm all about sharing knowledge so come find me at anytime and ask me anything that comes to mind. It's going to be a great time.

ALPINE DESTINATIONS: MARCH 6-9, 2018 - JOSHUA TREE ACRES, CALIFORNIA

March 5-8,  2018

Hey everyone, I’m Anni and I’m so excited for this workshop! I’m a full time wedding photographer from Northern California.  If I’m not shooting or editing, I’m probably hiking or backpacking with my husband.  I grew up in the Himalayas in India, which was obviously incredible, but I’m not up to date with everything pop culture or history related so please forgive me.  Other than wedding photography, I am in love with outdoor adventure photography and going on assignment with Nat Geo is probably my biggest dream. I’ve been a photographer for about 6 years now and have grown so much over the years.  I love getting to know my couples on a personal level and infusing their unique story into my images.  I love the thrill of shooting in all elements, soaked at a waterfall, falling in the mud, hardly able to stand up in the wind, or hiking up to a peak at sunrise.  I value the experience photography can create, and the emotion it can hold. I’m thrilled to be a part of this group of incredible women, to encourage and support you and tell you how awesome you already are!

PAST INSTRUCTORS

June 5-9 • June 12-16, 2017

Hey! I'm Melissa.

I've been doing photography almost 7 years and have been a full time wedding photographer for the past 5. I follow my gut when it comes to shooting my couples - that's where I find the connection happens, where the creativity flows, and where I've learned to thrive. I'm passionate about making my clients feel like absolute rockstars and creating a space where they feel their truest selves. I'm all about honest relationships, traveling the world with my hot AF husband, hustling hard after my dreams + encouraging others to do the same. I absolutely love collaborating with fellow artists + rooting each other on!

I'm so excited to meet you guys, share what I know and learn from each other at Alpine NW!

Hi! I’m Zach, and I've had a passion for anything involving technology for as long as I can remember. I currently work in the digital public relations industry (going on 3+ years now) for a wonderful PR agency called PulpPR, which allows me to explore my creativity and love for early-mid stage technology startups. In my free time, I love to take on photographygraphic design and web design projects by freelance where I have over a decade of combined experience.  I also provide marketing consulting services, and occasionally write for publications like Social Media TodayBusiness 2 CommunityPR Daily and The Next Web.  I absolutely love being able to help small businesses succeed, and the smiles clients give me after a photoshoot are priceless.

June 5-9, 2017

I’m a deep thinker and an over feeler. I crave the raw, the real, the intimate, the unsung drama of everyday life and extraordinary love. Connection is everything. These are the pillars of my work. My people are the artists and the creatives and the free spirits in the world. The adventurers, the eccentrics, the musicians and artists and the ones who have chosen a different path. Whether you’re having a backyard wedding or getting married in a castle, I want to capture your story. I love seeing couples celebrates their unique love with a one of a kind day that reflects them. Because nothing is more beautiful than authenticity.

Hello! My name is David Isaac Rivers.  I am an aspiring artistic-creative from the Olympic Peninsula where I work as a church music director, freelance graphic designer, and musician.  I’m very passionate about being a part of a community of people who seek to support, encourage, and love one another to do what they were made to do.  I'm super excited to share the wealth of knowledge and beauty of our local community with people from all around the world and I hope that they gain appreciation for our home and feel welcome to our artistic outdoor community. I’m really looking forward to helping students gain an eye for assessing good design. I think the ability to recognize the timeless quality of good composition and visual nuance is key, and I'm excited to engage you all in the conversation of simplicity and nuance of design.

Management

Braden Torras

Co-Founder - Director

Hey folks.  My name is Braden.  I'm an outdoors and arts enthusiast.  I attended Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle for a year focusing on Composition.  After I ran out of money (what up Cornish Kids.  You get it), I decided to start a record label with my best friend and produce some sweet tunes.  This ultimately led to needing photos, videos, marketing, and website help and in the absence of money, I took to learning all of those things myself.  So now I suppose I do all of that.  Additionally, from the age of 18 to the age of 28, I participated in an in-depth 10 year long wilderness awareness and education apprenticeship with the Tribal Edge.  Part of this apprenticeship was the close analysis and disection of education and information systems in a strong team-movement dynamic.  Noelle approached me about being a part of a workshop her and Jordan were developing.  I gladly (and quickly) accepted, and shortly thereafter Alpine Northwest was born.  My role in Alpine Northwest comes from the experience I developed with the Tribal Edge in project development and group management.  I'm thrilled to be co-creating this organization and am very excited to discover with all of you more truth about our art, and ultimately about our existence on this beautiful planet.
